Walk to Pacifica Pier

09/18/05 | by Clarise | Categories: General Thoughts

I think since I have lived in Pacifica, CA, this has been the worse summer we have had. We have had continuously foggy weather. Even my Christmas cactus (I adopted it when our friend Bruce left for Iraq), thinks it is winter and has flowers!

Today, was a sunny day. Oh, the glorious sun is out :) So, I went for a walk to the Pacifica Pier. I took a picture of the pier with my phone ;D

According to my pedometer, I walked 5.04 miles - round trip. It was a nice walk, but it was tiring ...

WWL-AM Interview with New Orleans Mayor

09/02/05 | by Clarise | Categories: On the web

Joseph and I listened to the WWL-AM Interview with New Orleans Mayor, Ray Nagin. He lashed on the inefficiency and the slow pace of relief efforts of the US government.

I must say it is a podcast, via Dave Winer's Scripting News, worth listening to ...

WWL-AM Interview with New Orleans Mayor

One part of the interview had this:

WWL: What can we do here?

NAGIN: Keep talking about it.

WWL: We'll do that. What else can we do?

NAGIN: Organize people to write letters and make calls to their congressmen, to the president, to the governor. Flood their doggone offices with requests to do something. This is ridiculous.end quotation

After listening to it, my heart went to those who are in need. In support of the mayor of New Orleans, I blog about it to let people know.

My nephew is a budding songwriter-singer. His song Lovelost is currently being played on Monster Radio Rx93.1. Please help support him by requesting his song. Just fill the form and put his song LoveLost and the artist name Doval. Even if you can't tune in to Rx93.1, every request helps his budding career. You can listen to his song through Purevolume ...

We appreciate all the help.

Title: Lovelost
Artist: Doval

Where have you gone my friend?
Where have you sailed away?
Where have you walked my friend?
From where we used to play

And the hardest of hearts was dismantled by
The softest of eyes never seeming to notice me now
This is how you fall in love
But I'd barter my soul for one more last try
to bask in your presence and give you the best that I have
This is how you fall in love
Lost...

Where have you gone my friend?
Heaven has swept you away
Where have you ran my friend?
From where we used to play

And the hardest of hearts was dismantled by
The softest of eyes never seeming to notice me now
This is how you fall in love
But if you could bestow me an undeserved try
I'll bask in your heaven and give you the best that I have
This is how you fall in loveend quotation
